영어일기 첫 도전

부족한 영어실력을 늘리기 위해서 영어 일기를 써보려고 한다.

앞으로 나의 진심이 담긴 재밌고 감동적인(?) 한국말 일기를 보기 어려울 거지만 이해부탁드립니다.


Today is same.
I wake up 3:20am and good well slept but very tired.
I ready my box lunch and out home
I drive my work place. Very cold.

Im attendanced

I worked the lifting.
Today is not packing

Team leader say lifing precautions
But i dont understand.
Usually i understand with a keen eye
But today his english is hard for me
But my korean teammate know his mean.

Smoker time start
My teammate ask me
"My rent car period is end soon so could you play oil share me?"
Im 고민했다.

Instance is nearby but my ready time extend and oilshare pee, my car many problems..etc..

I will answer him.

First smoke time
Im talked yesterday's my phone lost story.

I was lifted cow viscera

And second smoke time ended
Im worked bench part.

Bench is another hard life
Im alone worked..
After part people attendanced
Im worked a little bit lift

And I got off work.

I arrived home and played duolingo 2hours
And home work out push up, dips

Today was much of the same.

I woke up at 3:20 AM. I slept well, but I still felt very tired. I prepared my lunch box and left the house. It was very cold as I drove to work.

After clocking in, I was assigned to lifting today instead of packing. The team leader gave us some precautions about lifting, but I couldn't understand him. Usually, I can figure out what to do by watching others closely, but his English was particularly difficult for me today. Luckily, my Korean teammate understood what he meant.

During the first smoke break, my teammate asked me, "My rental car contract is ending soon, so could you give me a ride if I share the gas money?" I debated whether to say yes. Even though the distance is short, it would mean I’d have to get ready earlier, and my car has some mechanical issues. I'll give him an answer soon.

I also shared the story about losing my phone yesterday during the first break. After the break, I spent time lifting cow viscera (internal organs). After the second break, I worked at the bench part.

Working the bench is another level of hard; I had to work alone. Later, some people joined the section, and I went back to doing a bit more lifting.

Finally, I got off work. As soon as I got home, I practiced Duolingo for two hours and did a home workout (push-ups and dips). I just finished dinner and am now writing my English diary.

2. 우리말 번역

오늘도 어제와 비슷했어요.

새벽 3시 20분에 일어났습니다. 잠은 잘 잤지만 여전히 피곤하네요. 도시락을 챙겨서 집을 나섰습니다. 직장까지 운전해서 가는데 날씨가 무척 추웠어요.

출근 도장을 찍고, 오늘은 패킹(포장) 대신 리프팅(무거운 것 들기) 작업을 했습니다. 팀장이 리프팅 시 주의사항을 말해줬는데 이해하지 못했어요. 보통은 눈치껏 상황을 보고 이해하는 편인데, 오늘따라 팀장의 영어가 어렵게 들렸습니다. 다행히 한국인 동료가 그가 하는 말을 알아들었어요.

첫 번째 담배 타임 때 동료가 저에게 물었습니다. "렌트카 기간이 곧 끝나는데, 기름값 낼 테니 카풀(oil share) 해줄 수 있어?" 저는 고민이 되었습니다. 거리는 가깝지만 제 준비 시간이 길어지고 제 차에도 문제가 좀 있거든요. 조만간 대답을 해줄 생각입니다.

첫 번째 휴식 시간에는 어제 핸드폰을 잃어버렸던 이야기를 했어요. 휴식이 끝나고 소 내장 리프팅 작업을 했습니다. 두 번째 휴식 시간 이후에는 벤치 파트에서 일했어요.

벤치 파트는 또 다른 고된 작업이었어요. 혼자 일했거든요. 나중에 다른 사람들이 합류했고 저는 리프팅 작업을 조금 더 했습니다.

드디어 퇴근을 했습니다! 집에 도착해서 듀오링고를 2시간 동안 했고, 푸시업과 딥스로 홈트레이닝도 했습니다. 저녁을 먹고 지금은 영어 일기를 쓰고 있네요.

💡 유용한 표현 및 팁

1. I debated whether to...: 처음에 물어보셨던 '고민했다'는 표현을 문맥에 맞게 넣어보았습니다.
2. Keen eye: '눈치껏/예리하게'라는 의미로 쓰신 표현이 아주 좋습니다. "I usually catch on quickly by watching"(눈치로 금방 배운다)라는 표현도 자주 쓰여요.
3. Oil share (X) → Gas money (O): 기름값을 나눠 내는 것은 보통 "split the gas money" 또는 **"pay for gas"**라고 표현합니다.
4. Workplace / Factory: 일하시는 곳을 workplace라고 하거나 구체적으로 the factory라고 표현하면 더 명확합니다.
