I met my new housemate this morning! He was moving his luggage in. We said hello, and I found out he's from Thailand and works as a nurse. I also made sure to explain our simple house rules to him.
Before starting work, I squeezed in a workout with some push-ups and dips. Then, it was time for my shift! I worked a full-time shift in the "Blue Room" today. I actually asked my team leader for this assignment.
The Blue Room is tough, but I chose it because I wanted to avoid the heavy lifting that some of the lazier people dodge. I started with trimming. Since it’s been a while, I had forgotten the technique, so I had to relearn it!
Work was incredibly hard; my fingernails are actually aching. After my first smoke break, I got back to it. I had to cut "Bibles" (thick stacks/books), which were so heavy that it really hurt my nails. Usually, I only work in the Blue Room for 3 to 4 hours, but doing it full-time today was exhausting. I truly respect the regular Blue Room members.
Toward the end, I went back to trimming. Honestly, that’s the easiest task in the Blue Room! Haha. Now, I’m finally finished!
(Tips)
"My nails so sick" → "My nails/fingertips ache"
(예: My muscles are sore.)
"I long time no see work" → "It's been a while since I worked"
'Long time no see'는 주로 사람을 오랜만에 만났을 때 쓰는 인사말이에요. 어떤 일을 오랜만에 한다고 할 때는 "It's been a while since..."
"Baggage" vs "Luggage"
"I did start work" → "I started work"
